Contribution form

When you suggest a source, the form processes the name or pseudonym, email address, subject and documentary information that you choose to submit.

This information is used to verify the submission, request clarification where necessary and assess its potential editorial use. Submission does not guarantee publication or acknowledgement of the contributor.

Transmission and retention

The submission is sent to [email protected]. The site creates no account, public profile or contribution record in the WordPress database.

Submissions that are not retained, together with their technical context, are deleted from the mailbox no later than twelve months after their last review, unless they are required in connection with a security incident or legal obligation. When a submission is retained, relevant correspondence may be kept for as long as necessary to document the source’s provenance, permissions and editorial work.

Protection against automated submissions

A non-reversible technical fingerprint, derived temporarily from the network address and browser, may be retained for a few minutes to limit repeated submissions. The theme does not retain the raw network address through this mechanism.

To secure requests sent to @leverington.ch, the internal email includes the technical metadata available at the time of submission: timestamp, IP address observed by WordPress, network headers forwarded by the proxy, Cloudflare identifiers, estimated browser and operating system, User-Agent, languages, previous page, origin, request, protocol and status of anti-abuse checks. This information is used to detect, investigate and document malicious submissions. Self-declared headers may be falsified and should be checked against server logs. No cookie, password, session token or authorisation header is included in the email.

Hosting, logs and additional services

Hosting is managed through Cloudways, LLC, on Google Cloud infrastructure whose main server is located in Switzerland. The location and infrastructure provider reflect the active hosting-account configuration.

Documentary photographs are hosted locally within the theme. Credit and licence links lead to Wikimedia Commons only when you choose to open them.

Non-essential external services and content remain blocked until your choice is recorded in the consent manager. You can change this choice at any time from the Legal Notice page.

Your requests

To request access to, correction or deletion of a contribution, use the documentary contact form and enter ‘Privacy’ as the subject. Proportionate identity verification may be required.
